Father's Day 2013

We were initially not able to celebrate Father's Day this year as Daddy Li had duty, but luckily he managed to change it with another person so yayy! Unfortunately, that also means that instead of him being gone for his four day outfield, he will be gone for FIVE! D: Not sure how I'm gonna survive that, but I shall think positive.

Brought Daddy Li to for a celebratory lunch a day earlier as Sunday is a busy day for us. Actually, it's just that K has Shichida, right smack in the middle of the afternoon so she has to have a decent nap before. We just want to make sure we've got no cranky issues to deal with and she will be totally focused during class.

I decided on a buffet lunch at Carousel. We had always wanted to try it but never been, so I thought it's the perfect occasion.

No pictures of the food unfortunately!

I wouldn't recommend Carousel's lunch buffet. The choice of seafood was limited, but then again reasonable for the price we paid. I would definitely pay more to go a restaurant with a wider variety cos Daddy Li and myself love seafood! The only thing I was really upset about was that the seafood was quite dirty, for example the clams and mussels had like seaweed or idk what it was in it!

The selection of mains were good in that they had a variety of cuisines from Chinese to Jap to Middle Eastern and Western, however not much options in each cuisine.

Dessert selection was yums! You can't really go wrong with desserts. Our fave was the creme brulee and tiramisu cos they are our favourite desserts. They also had three different kinds of chocolate fondues available, milk choc, white choc and matcha..which I didn't try! Quite a pity, but by then I was rather full already..so perhaps we shall go back for tea soon to check it out!

Staff were friendly and approachable so that made it a good experience.

I must also commend Kaitlin for lasting that two hours while we had lunch! No screaming, no tantrums at all. Of course she had her fair share of ahem..healthy food..like soba noodles with no sauce, tamago, bread and cheese. We also fed her food that I had packed. So yeah Kaitlin when you read this in future, hey hey good job baby girl! Thanks for being an awesome girl and cooperating.

That evening, we gave Daddy Li his craft gift! A crown!!! Got K to scribble cos she loves colouring and scribbling now and then I made it into a crown and stuck those stickers on. Super easy to do and so toddler friendly.

Daddy's celebration continued the next day, where he went off to play basketball in the morning with his friends, then in the afternoon I arranged for him to go for a "relaxing" appointment while I brought K to class. He usually brings her to class cos it's suppose for him to bond with her and for me to rest but this week I brought her. After class we met, and went to collect our dinner! Melben's Crab Beehoon, Daddy Li's favourite! We packed it home cos with K around its quite hard to eat crab outside and also eating at home is so much more comfortable. So that was how we spent Daddy's Day. No frills. Lots of eating, and Daddy Li was a happy boy = happy me!

Though Daddy Li can't always be around, it always makes me so happy to see how he and Kaitlin can bond so well. I can foresee her being a daddy's girl! Happy Father's Day to the husband. I know you don't care for celebrations and all, but you know I'm the complete opposite. You're just someone worth celebrating, and someone I want to celebrate with for the rest of our lives. Thanks for being the father who loves but also disciplines, the one who complains about cleaning poop but still does it and for supporting the decisions I make for K.

Since it was Father's Day, I also got Daddy Li to share about whatever he wanted on Fatherhood as part of the Daddy Matters linky..you can read it here if you're interested :)

[Daddy Matters] - A special post from Daddy Li!

With it being Father's Day tomorrow, I decided to let Daddy Li "take over" my blog and share a little about anything he wanted about his fatherhood journey:

***

When we first found out that Bev was expecting, I was happy yet I felt really lost and didn’t know how to feel about it.  That’s because I didn’t expect myself to be someone’s father so early. Very different from a lot of people where most of them built up their career before setting up a family.

For me I started off with a family when I was young, and a lot of people tell me that its good, reason being when our daughter grows up we can connect and be more of friend than parent and child relationship.

Well I don’t know how many of those people were just trying to be nice. But whatever man. I personally as a father then, felt that I wouldn’t be able to be a good father because I don’t know anything about parenthood. But as time passes by everything just seem like its getting on to the right track. I guess this is just like a baby learning to walk, we as fathers learn how to be one through cleaning up poop, vomit, panic when baby is running a fever, this are all part and parcel of fatherhood.

People always tell me that it’s good that I'm a father when I'm young. It’s true! Being young allows me to keep up with my active baby, but of course that doesn’t mean that I don’t get tired at all. I still feel shagged out at times especially after coming back from camp but luckily there is mummy around to tank!

Thus far it's not been a easy journey but I really enjoy seeing my baby girl growing up. From rolling to crawling to walking. These are moments that make all the hard work worth while and I just feel so contented with every small step that my daughter is taking.

I am very thankful that despite how difficult parenthood can be, my wife and I still work together and try to give our best. Parenthood has not been an easy journey, but I'm lucky and thankful that I've my wife who copes with the most part of it.
Ever since I became a dad I definitely can relate and understand that being a daddy is no easy job so to all the fathers out there, HAPPY FATHER”S DAY!

Father's Day 2012

Lihai got the chance to celebrate his first Father's Day on Sunday :)

Started the day off by getting him to look out the window. I laid pieces of paper which basically spelt out "Good Morn's", "Happy Father's Day" & "I LOVE YOU!" Baby Kaitlin was downstairs posing with the paper. Lihai stoned -.- and I asked him if he can see and he was like "ya". Turns out..he didn't realise I wrote stuff on the paper cos it was too small and according to him, he thought Kaitlin was gonna walk or something for him to see -.- We went off to the wet market and got back home. Showered and stuff while Kaitlin napped.

Next up was brunch! Changed Kaitlin into her new top I bought specially for Father's Day! Bought it a few weeks back and couldn't wait for her to wear it and show her daddy! Lihai said it doesn't matter what she wears as long as she is guai and stuff. I guess that's the male species for you!

I purposely asked Lihai to wait for me before getting into the cab so I could tell the Uncle where to go..it worked..but in the end, the cab driver spilled the beans when he confirmed where I wanted to go. Damn annoyedxz and I bet he did it on purpose lor zz.

Brunch was at Jade! Yes, finally brought Lihai there! To be honest, the food was nice, but not that great as when we first had it. We both agreed that it was probably because we had too high expectations of it! Ended up super stuffed!

We spent lunch laughing and disturbing each other..super <3 times like these :') Diners at Jade found Kaitlin to be quite amusing, and kept looking over at our table..I guess Kaitlin can be celebrity all already!

Went over to The Shoppes at MBS and walked around then headed home.

Gave Lihai his present from Kaitlin! It's basically artwork done by Kaitlin.

Lihai stoned again! It was quite amusing. He had the "uhhhh" expression. I guess he was trying to figure out what it was and according to him, he was also figuring out what to do with it. In the end, he displayed it in the dining room. Told him he could throw it away if he wants, but he said no cos it's precious and all! What a great daddy! :D

Here are peektures from Kaitlin was making her daddy's present:

Kaitlin's first time doing crafts and playing with squishy paint! I thought she looked super adorbxz when she was figuring out the paint's texture and exploring!

As you can see..things got kinda messy! Babygirl even tasted a little paint! Not to worry! I made sure I bought non-toxic paint and of course I immediately wipe the paint off her lips and stuff!

Back to Father's Day itself!

Ended up helping Lihai to shave his head cos he had to but was too lazy to walk out to town to get it shaved. I think we spent like an hour on his hair! It was quite fun but hahaha damn stressing cos like I was damn scared it would look damn bad and he would hate me! Thankfully, it didn't turn out that bad, wasn't awesome as well..but haha, at least Lihai was fine with it :D

The weekend was quite an emotional one for the both of us. In fact, the week starting from Wednesday was already quite bleak..after much h2ht, I guess, we are both getting better emotionally. It's really times like this, that makes you treasure your other half even more. It's times like this, that really, makes me even more sure that I made the right choice marrying Lihai, and making the decision to start a family and spend the rest of my life with him. It really is a firm affirmation <3

To Lihai, you probably won't get to see this till you book out..which we are both uncertain of is when. It might even be 2 weeks from now..but, I just want you to know, that we'll get through this somehow and I will always be here waiting for you. Don't worry about things at home..cos I'll take care of everything, all you got to do is take care of yourself! Love you many xx!
