Mid-Week Musings

Kaitlin has been very expressive these days, and it can be quite funny to see her get all dramatic, especially when she doesn't get her way and throws a tantrum. Daddy Li thinks she gets it from me..and me..I think that our little girl definitely has a potential future as a child actress.

I started teaching Kaitlin different kinds of emotions and expressions since we received the 'Today I Am' book for review. At that time, she could understand happy, shocked and sad. Now she is able to act out other emotions and is also able to identify how we are feeling most of the time.

For example, if I use a stronger tone, she will tell me to "don't 发脾气". This morning while on the way to school, I was pretend playing with her and telling her that daddy's bullying me and I'm sad. Complete with fake tears and sulking. She asked me "Daddy bully you? You sad?" I said yes, and she told me "I sayang you in the afternoon ok?" Instant heart melt moment please. It's times like these that I feel like having another baby and that dealing with two kids might not be all that bad.

Mid-Week Musings

Kaitlin has been very into singing and dancing for some time now, but recently she has started to break into song or dance out of nowhere. Sometimes, she can even sing the same song from when we walk from home to the nearby mall!

I've been wanting to film one of these moments down, but usually if Kaitlin sees me trying to take a photo or video of her she'll immediately stop. Luckily though, I managed to capture her just the other afternoon.

I have no idea what she was singing when she was playing with her puzzles but I know it ended off with 'ten little indian boys', which according to what I know the first part of what she sang does not sound like the version that I know. It's most likely that she learnt it from school then, or perhaps she mixed two songs into one.

The next one is of her singing 'wheels on the bus', one of her all time favourite songs. Kaitlin usually dances by jumping around, but now she's more into swaying and grooving a little more to the beat.

I kind of have this feeling that Kaitlin will pretty soon go into the phase of wanting to be a popstar, complete with matching guitar and microphone set. This totally brings back memories of myself when I was in Kindergarten and always pretending that the entire room is a stage and I'll be performing dance routines and singing in front of anyone (or maybe even no one!) who's home.

I'm actually pretty happy to see Kaitlin express herself this way and won't stop her from continuing to do so. At least I feel assured that she isn't shy at home and feels comfortable enough to do all this. Plus, watching all her funny antics totally makes my day.  Hopefully with more encouragement and reassurance, she would become more confident and not afraid to express herself in school as well.

Mid-Week Musings

Kaitlin wanted to go to the pool yesterday afternoon, so after her snack time we went! As usual, when we got to the pool she didn't want to get in -.-, but of course once I convinced her it would be fine and loads of fun, she naturally enjoyed it.

I was a little worried cos it was just the both of us and should anything happen there wasn't Daddy Li or anyone else around so I took extra caution. I know, I'm damn paranoid but it's better to be safe than sorry right.

The video is of us playing monster. I pretend to be a monster so she'll kick harder if not she'll get tickled! She loves it so much she'll keep asking to do it again.

Kaitlin has made improvement! I splashed water at her face and she got a little scared and asked for the towel to dry her face, but I didn't give it to her. No tears from her and I just reassured her that it was all fine and that she could just open eyes and I'm here. So that worked!

I also managed to encourage her to get into the water without the float and just carried her and walk around the pool. Bounced up and down singing songs to get her to calm down and feel more comfortable. I find that singing songs with her always helps in calming her down, so that was pretty easy. Also, she sat on the pool steps as well and splashed some water.

I was real glad that she took my earlier instructions to inform me if she needs to use the toilet and she did. So she sat on the grown up potty and did her little business and it was back to the pool for more splashing fun! Looking forward to more pool dates with my little sweetheart. It's definitely feels great helping her overcome her fear and I just hope that this will help her to grow confidence as well.

Mid-Week Musings

Sharing two videos this week! These actually weren't taken this week..but I wanted to share them anyway.

The first below shows Kaitlin identifying colours. Her school had been on the colour theme the previous term, and I'm glad that she knows most of her colours already. Now it's on to trying to get her to learn them in Mandarin.

I had actually posted the video below on Instagram but took it down..so here it is!

I let Kaitlin watched My Little Pony just to see if she would like the show and she did! She said she wanted to read her pony book as well cos I had just bought her a My Little Pony pop-up book set and she's been loving it. At the end of the video Kaitlin says "Hello Pony"! We didn't continue watching the entire show though cos there was some magical part later on and Kaitlin said it was "scary" and wanted to change the video. It's quite funny and I think it's damn awesome that she loves ponies and unicorns just like me :D

Happy Mid-Week! We're nearing the weekends :)

Kaitlin's Playgroup Year-End Concert

Kaitlin's school had their year-end concert last Friday and boy was I excited for it!! I think I was more excited than Kaitlin and it was such a special day for Kaitlin and us.
The concert was held at the Singapore Post Theatrette. Lucky for her playgroup class, they did not have to arrive as early as the other kids so Kaitlin got to wake up at her usual time. We dropped her off so that she could prepare with her teachers and friends, while Daddy Li and I had some rare couple time where we mostly stoned and eagerly waited for the performance to start.

After the usual speech and all..the show was about to begin! We got to see slideshows of all the kids in the school and of course I had to snap away when they showed Kaitlin's class. Basically it was a compilation of them in class and also during their rehearsals for their performance.

Seeing them practice for the performance totally made my heart melt! It's like they did all that for us?! And they are only 2! They may not know that the performance was for us, but the fact that they practice and then did it on stage later was such a sweet moment that I almost teared.

Here's the performance:

I didn't edit it at all and it's a little shaky here and there. If you get to the end of the video, you'll realise that Kaitlin didn't move much as in she didn't do most of the actions but that was totally fine by us. I think it was already awesome enough that she went on stage and didn't start crying. In fact, I'm not too sure if she saw us while on stage, but as you can see in the video she seemed to be looking at us for awhile.

Oh...I don't know how to really describe the entire moment. It was such a mix of being excited and us trying to snap and film away that when the performance ended I was like "what just happened?!" cos there were just so many emotions. Thankfully though we had the video above so I could totally re-watch (I've already watched it at least like 5 times over hehe!) it and see what really went on.

We spent the rest of the concert with K seated with us, which was a great move on the school's part cos obviously all the small kids would want to be with their parents. Kaitlin basically just snacked the whole way through the other performances. She wouldn't stop eating all her puffs that by the end she had almost finished all of it. Thankfully she was a good girl as well and didn't get cranky or fidgety at all. We didn't stay through to the end of the concert like we had wanted to cos of K's naptime. Luckily the only time she got cranky was when we got on the cab to leave and by then she was starting to get tired so it was totally understandable.

Daddy Li and I are both very proud of our little girl. It's not just this performance that made us feel this way..but in a way the concert was kind of the icing on the cake. I think the performance just shows how much Kaitlin has grown since she's started school. She definitely picked up both good and bad habits, but I think it's safe to say there are more good ones than bad. I remember how it was such a tough search looking for her school and how undecided I felt. Even on the first week of school, watching her cry in tears totally made my heart ache and I always questioned if I did the right thing and I always did consider if I should just pull her out from school. After the performance, I finally felt like I did do something right after all..and I feel even more assured that Kaitlin's doing just fine in class.

With the year coming to an end, I'm definitely getting a little worried about how Kaitlin is going to adjust to moving up to Nursery level with new classmates, a new classroom and new teachers. I know it's not going to be a smooth transition, but I can only hope for the best. And like always, I'll just have to hold her hands, hug it out with her and reassure her that it will all be fine.

--

To my dearest Kaitlin, you've done mommy and daddy so very proud, and we are so happy with how much you've learnt and achieved. You've always been surprising us with what you've learnt and what you are capable of doing. Sure, you might be slower than your peers in certain aspects and I was always the worry wart, but we really couldn't ask for more from you. As for Nursery, we'll get through whatever transition you've to make Kaitlin, mommy will always be here. Always. For now, just enjoy the rest of the school year my little sweetheart!

Mid-Week Musings

I haven't been posting much videos of Kaitlin on my blog mainly cos I post most of it on my Instagram account. Today though, I'm finally back with Mid-Week Musings!

If you're a new reader or haven't seen any of my previous Mid-Week Musings posts, they are just snippets of our everyday life with Kaitlin, who never fails to surprise and amuse us. I hope to keep the posts a constant thing like how they were in the past..but we'll have to see.

For now..here's this week's video

In case you can't hear the audio very well..here's what happened. K was basically drinking her milk with her new teddy bear seated on the other chair. I wanted to seat where the teddy bear was seated but she said "it's bear bear chair" and she just had to pout. So I suggested seating on the floor which we always remind her not to cos of her rashes so she "moved bear bear" and offered me her teddy bear's seat. She also later remembered that no one should seat on the table so she said "don't seat on the table hor". Also, a new phrase she picked up this week was "okie dokie" which sometimes sounds like "okie okie" when she says it.

I find it pretty fascinating how she picks things up so fast. I mean I've read all about how kids are like sponges etc, but it's amazing to see it for yourself. Kids learn in so many ways, not just from what you teach or tell them, but also through observing their main caretakers. In our case, that's us so it's always very important for us to be mindful of our actions and behaviour. That's something that I find I've to constantly remind myself about cos as humans, sometimes we do get lazy or mistakes.

Children's Day 2013!

This year was kind of the first official year that we celebrated Children's Day with Kaitlin..so even though it's way past that day it's still a post worth penning down and one that I hope will bring a smile to K's face when she reads this.

K had no school on Children's Day so it was actually a day I was looking forward to. It's been awhile since we last spent a weekday morning together, so this was just what we mother and daughter needed..okay well I'm not sure about her..but I definitely did think that way haha!

Well..our morning started off early. It has to be that way, doesn't it? On normal school days, it's such a chore to wake her up and she cries cos she's not ready to wake up..but when it comes to weekends..public holidays..days like Children's Day there's an automatic clock in her that goes off -.- I'm sure any parent reading this knows exactly what I mean. So..obviously I was hoping for us to start our day a little later than usual, and also for *ahem* myself to sneak in another extra half an hour or so of sleep..but well since K was up that means time for mommy to be up!

We had our usual breakfast and shower and headed out for some fun! It was kinda hard deciding where to bring Kaitlin cos there were just so many fun places I wanted to bring her but I eventually made up my mind. Our first stop was Tiong Bahru Park so that Kaitlin could play at the playground!

K loves to play the swing so that was the whole purpose of bringing her there. Most people might not know..but Kaitlin is terrified of sand. Like if she sees it she will start panicking and then screaming and crying as if I hit her -.- So yeah surprisingly even though she is scared of sand she can sit on the swing. Well of course at first she was hesistant but after trying it out and realising how fun it is she is fine with it. But the sand...she's still afraid of it. Idk why, but it's probably the texture. So it's been quite a pity cos we can't play at beaches and build sandcastles and all but I guess it's kind of a phase and she will eventually like to play with sand.

(if the above "content is unavailable" and you would like to view the instavid, follow me on instagram @beaverwoo and then refresh this page)

Besides the swing, K also played with a few of those rocking rides. I don't actually know what they are called..but she really enjoyed herself and I like outings like these..where we get to have fun outdoors.

After that, we headed over to Great World City to look at rabbits! Kaitlin had been asking to see rabbits the whole morning before we headed to the playground, so of course I granted her wish.

I know K looks quite unhappy in the below picture, but she's really just trying to imitate the rabbit sniffing with it's nose. It's actually quite funny and she can also imitate the baby drinking water from the bottle!

After observing the rabbits, K got to take a kiddy ride before we bought sushi cos she wanted some. The babygirl couldn't wait to eat it so she had some before we headed home and I kept the rest for her tea time.

Needless to say, when we got home for her nap time, she quickly drifted off to sleep. Woke up, and it was time for her tea break..

(if the above "content is unavailable" and you would like to view the instavid, follow me on instagram @beaverwoo and then refresh this page)

If you're wondering what's she eating..it's avocado and sushi!

When she finished her tea break, I brought the babygirl out so that we could surprise Daddy Li when he ended work, and surprised he was! We had dinner at home and then...

we ended off her Children's Day celebration with Cronuts! Yes, she got to have it all..the cream..the sugar and a happy girl she was, and so were we!

It was a really fun day celebrating with Kaitlin and doing the things she wanted for a change. Sometimes, I feel we get so caught up with having to cross off things on our to-do list or doing things that we want that we tend to neglect what the kids want..so this day was specially just for her..doing what she wanted. Of course, it shouldn't just been done a few times a year (her birthday, children's day etc) so I'm gonna try to make a more conscious effort to listen to what K wants and let her have her fun instead of always deciding what we we should do.

Mid-Week Musings

Babygirl can now play independently with the slide that Godpa Ronald gifted her for her first birthday and she enjoys it so much!

She used to be afraid to slide down on her own and would hold our hands, but the past couple of days she's been really brave to try sliding down without assistance. She also would usually prefer us to be near her, I guess cos it makes her feel more safe and reassured but this girl is definitely growing up now. Check out the video I filmed of her:

I must say that while I was filming this I was actually quite afraid she might hit herself or get into an accident since I wasn't exactly near enough to protect her. Thankfully nothing happened.

I know, it's just a slide and I sound like a complete psycho being so protective but I really rather be on the safe side than to have something bad happen to her. Well, one thing I learnt is that sometimes we got to really "let go" as mommies and let them have some falls and scrapes. It's part of life anyway! To pick yourself up after you fall..I try to remind myself that but well, when they are your precious little ones it sometimes gets a little difficult.

Mid-Week Musings

Sharing two videos of babygirl for this week's mid-week musings!

Yes! Babygirl knows how to feed us. It's so adorbxz..only if getting her to eat more was as simple as teaching her how to feed us -.-

This video definitely proves that Kaitlin loves ponies :D Indeed my child! I was afraid she might start freaking out when the carousel started moving cos I've seen instances where some small kids get terrified. Yet, Kaitlin remained so calm and she didn't even seem to feel dizzy or anything..while I on the other hand..felt so dizzy and nauseous. What is this?! A sign that I'm growing old?? :'( Anyway! I think I'll definitely be using these carousel rides as a treat for her if she behaves.

Happy Halloween!

I know I'm supposed to continue posting about our third year anniversary, but since it's Halloween, I decided that I would put that on hold first and blog about how we celebrated Halloween on Saturday!

It's our first time celebrating Halloween as a family, and in fact, I didn't really bother about Halloween in the previous years until this year! Of course, with Kaitlin in our lives now everything is different. We skipped last year's celebration cos we just welcomed baby girl into our lives and were in the midst of well basically going insane and trying to find our momentum with the new one.

When Halloween comes around, it used to be thoughts of watching scary movies, going to scary theme parks (never got to doing that cos I'm really scared:( but I would definitely want to go one day), dressing up and going to parties. Now, with Kaitlin, all those thoughts have got to be toned down, but I'm sort of fine with that cos I'm not into all that scary stuff anyway.

First thing on our Halloween list was Kaitlin's costume! We had not finalised what our plans were, but Lihai and I decided that even if we didn't had plans we would still get her a costume anyway. Afterall, she is only a baby/toddler once, and only ever going to have what's left of her chubby fats on her, so that means she won't have that chubby cuteness in the years to come. I saw many super adorable costumes online, except, yes except they are not available in Singapore. I don't understand why any kids apparel or toy store would not want to stock up on these costumes and make lots of money during the Halloween season, cos I would definitely buy them! I understand that Halloween isn't much celebrated in Singapore, but I still think there would be people buying them and I wouldn't just buy costumes for Halloween..I would buy them if I had a themed birthday party or even for a fun photoshoot.

Enough ranting! Back to the point. I wanted to DIY Kaitlin's costume, buy Daddy Li wasn't so into it and we had previously seen costumes at Toys"R"Us so we decided to just get it from the store. Next problem was deciding between the pumpkin or the spider..and we chose...

THE SPIDER!

If you are wondering why is she not wearing the hat, it's cos she refused. She hates anything placed on her head. You would think WHY?! and honestly I don't know the answer to that as well. Maybe she is not the kind who likes to dress up? Or maybe she feels that she doesn't want her hair to be messed up.

The pictures below were taken when we first got her into the costume after her evening bathe.

Thankfully she did not fuss or anything, but even if she did, I mentally prepared myself for it.

She was such a QTpie, walking around everywhere and moving her hands up and down, like a real spider. Too bad I didn't manage to video it down :( Tried many times to get her to wear her spider hat, but she really didn't want to so we didn't force her.

Our Halloween activity was to go Trick-or-Treating around the estate. This year, the neighbours around the estate planned and arrange for households who were interested to join in.

We decided to not join any party/event/activities where we had to pay cos we felt that Kaitlin was still too tiny to enjoy any of those and it would be quite a waste of money. Plus, those activities were till quite late and would end near or past the start of her bed time routine.

So off we went round the estate to collect candy!

It was cute seeing all the little kids walking around and getting so excited over Halloween and all the candy. Kaitlin was the youngest "trick-or-treater" and if I'm not wrong, the only Asian kid going round but it was still fun! It was really nice to see how the households that particpated were so into Halloween. They were so over the top with the decorations. I really do hope to see more of the households around the area getting into the Halloween mood next year then it would be really fun! Also, everyone was so friendly and helpful and telling us where to go to get more candy etc etc.

We walked around for almost an hour cos well, Kaitlin really did walk and she has tiny feet. Of course we didn't let her walk to all the households but a little here and there and here's her returning from all that candy collecting:

She initially didn't want to hold her pumpkin bag which she used to collect candy and was also apprehensive to grab the candy when the neighbours placed a big bowl of candy right in front of her for her to grab but I guess that's cos she is a baby a tiny one still and probably didn't know what was happening..but when we got home and the bag was filled with all the candy..she wanted it all!

This is proof that kids are so smart aren't they! Act cute and innocent so that she gets more candy..wait for the candy to be collected and then attackkkkkkk when no one's looking! I also think it's cos Kaitlin can smell the candy that's why she's so drawn to it.

It's been since Saturday and every night we bring the candy bag out during our bedtime routine and it entertains her. Every night she gets and more and more drawn to it. For example, the first night she just plays with the candy, and drags the bag along. The next night she picks up the bag and carries it though a little heavy (and walks around) and starts peering into the bag.

The night after, she lifts up the bag and puts her head deeper and looks at it at different angles. It's just so cute to watch how she moves from one stage to another with her exploration.

Of course, no candy for her! Just for her to smell and touch. I actually think it's a great way for her to learn different textures, explore sounds like the crinkling of plastic and shaking a box of candy and practice her fine motor skills. She also learns how to share with Mommy and Daddy when she passes us candy, and practices putting the candy back to where it belongs after taking them all out.  Best of all...this cost us nothing and we even get to enjoy the candy at the end of the day!

We really enjoyed our Halloween and definitely looking forward to next year's :D Sorry for the lengthy post but if you got to this part, thanks for reading through all the words..and I leave you with a picture of Kaitlin wearing her spider hat (yes finally! It lasted on her head for a grand total of about 20 seconds!)

Hope you had/are having a great Halloween celebration with your family and friends :)

Mid-Week Musings

For this week's Mid-Week Musings, I'm gonna share what Kaitlin has been up to. If you've been following me on Instagram (@beaverwoo) you would probably have seen most of the pictures..

This was taken last week at the MRT while waiting for the lift to come. We were going to NUH to see the Orthopedic. It looks more like Kaitlin is going for tuition class, and obviously Godma Enna though the same too! Great minds think alike :)

This photo and the next few were taken at the playground at ToTT when I was meeting Kaitlin's Godpa Ronald and Godma Kar Yan for lunch on Monday. The staff allowed me to bring Kaitlin into the playground despite them closing off the dining area in front of the playground. She got so excited when she saw the playground and started kicking her legs before I could even put her down.

Obviously one of the first things she attacked was the slide! Even though she has a personal slide from Godpa, she still loves to play with slides. She's funny cos she likes to climb up the slides and she can even do it herself sometimes..but mainly on those wooden slides cos the plastic ones tend to be abit slippery.

Who knows? Maybe Kaitlin will like one day win the Policewoman of the Year award (do they even have such things?!) and I can show her this picture that from a young age of 13 months she already knew what she wanted to do! How cool right. Though..I'm not so keen on her risking her life and all. If she wants to do it, there's no stopping her so we'll see I guess.

Looking all fierce and probably wondering when Godpa and Godma are going to arrive for lunch and when mommy will stop taking pictures already!

The video below was taken this morning.

Kaitlin actually knew how to move the beads from when she was 11 months old, but I realised I didn't capture any pictures or videos of her playing with it so here it is.

Hang in there if the week's been tough! Seeing that Friday's a public holiday we are really near to the weekends already :)

Mid-Week Musings

In my previous Mid-Week Musings I mentioned that Kaitlin is walking already. Well..Kaitlin has now been using walking as one of her main ways of getting around. Be it in the house..or as you can see in the video below...

She's walking at the playground!:D:D There is really so much difference. Just last week, she couldwalk, but she pretty much still crawled around or cruised to get around the house or at the playground. Now, she's roaming!! Also, we would usually initiate to get her to walk on her own, but now she does it on her own and you can see from the look on her face how happy she is. She probably is thinking "Wow! I can do this!" She hasn't really got around to walking on her own on the stairs, but when she does I'll be sure to post it up! Oh and I forget to mention, she knows how to u-turn now! It's super adorable. Like she walks in one direction, then she turns back and walks back to where she came from.

So proud of my little girl! Other mommies at the playground also commented that Kaitlin is so small but walking already and how just last week she was not walking in the playground, but now she is #proudmommymoment

Oh yes, in case you were wondering what playground we are at in the video..it's the playground at Forum. We've been going there quite often as it's nearby. Only thing about it is that it's not open throughout the day, and at times there can be too many kids and it gets quite rowdy. You've to sign up to be a Hip Kids Club member to enter and it's $15 for the membership/year so I think that's pretty worth it. If you are interested, you can head on over to the info counter to sign up and the playground is just next to the info counter on the second floor :)

Have a good week! We're nearing the weekends, so hang in there xx

Mid-Autumn Festival 2012

I know I'm two days late, but late is better than never!

Sunday was the Mid-Autumn Festival and we didn't have a grand celebration or anything. We kept it simple and brought babygirl to Clarke Quay to see the lights and lanterns!

Of course, we brought her lantern along so that she could 提灯笼! Haha! My chinese isn't rusty yet :D Check Kaitlin out in the video below!

It was pretty crowded so we didn't get to take much pictures, plus the babygirl was easily distracted, but who could blame her. There was so much going on around her.

It got pretty packed within half an hour, so we didn't stay for long. Kaitlin doesn't do well with crowds..perhaps she finds it suffocating. We would have loved to indulge in mooncakes at home, except that Lihai was too full and I was having a sore throat :(

It was a short and sweet Mid-Autumn Festival for us. Nothing fancy, but we were a happy family that day. That's all that matters right? :)

Mid-Week Musings

If you've got slightly more than a minute to spare...or plenty of time to kill..

That's Kaitlin attempting to self-feed! If you realise..there actually isn't any food in her spoon..but she continues to try and feed herself. So cute...macham playing masak masak! Reminds me of myself..when I was a little girl! Such a qtpie <3 12 more days till babygirl turns #thebigone :O

We've been baking everyday..trying to get the perfect recipe and to practice baking Kaitlin's cake for her first birthday! That has resulted in me smelling like cake batter...and having cake every other day. Some of our baked goods also found their way to the bin..cos they were major fail :( Been busy searching for materials here and there as well. Kind of a mad rush..all for the sake of perfection! Oh well..if all fails..I might just throw the towel in perhaps a day before her birthday and just stick to the conventional partyware and decor that I can easily get off the shelves anywhere..and just order food delivery hurhur. She'll probably hate me for the rest of her life cos I ruined her first birthday :( well..I tried! Mommy ain't Martha Stewart you know!

The Little Gym

We brought Kaitlin for her trial class at The Little Gym at Forum on Saturday!

Lihai and I both think Kaitlin is pretty advanced for the class so we couldn't really do most of the activities since all she wanted to do was move around and explore. So...explore she did!

I thought Kaitlin was really brave when she fell and didn't cry! I guess she could be one of those adrenaline junkie type of people next time. Always explore and doesn't know how dangerous it is! These days she's been crawling to the edge of the bed and trying to climb down and all. Climbing the stairs at home..bouncing here and there, pouncing on my back..So many near heart attack moments. I secretly think she has been given sugar or something..cos she is just so active and NEVER TIRED. She can go without a nap for like 7-9 hours straight?!

Back to The Little Gym! Overall, I thought it was quite hard to keep up with the class since Kaitxz only wanted to move around, perhaps we should have brought her to a class where she could have joined older babies. There was some free time here and there when babies took turns to do the activities. Could be a good or bad thing. Good in that at least the babies have a good facility to play and explore, but bad in that I guess it could be quite a waste of time if all you are gonna do is sit around. Noticed that quite a few parents just sat down and cuddled with their baby and bonded with them. Maybe they too busy and can't bond with them on normal days -.-

Have yet to have a proper discussion with Lihai if we should sign Kaitlin up for The Little Gym, so we are still searching for more trial classes for babygirl..Let me know if you know or have heard of any good places :)

It's Friday!

Yayy it's Friday! Actually, to be honest, I'm not that excited about the coming weekend, just cos, after this weekend, Lihai will be going to a new camp and gahhh..just me and the baby. Don't know how to get through everyday without him. Sounds so clingy, but hey, that's why I married him right. Cos his the person that makes my day better, and helps me get through anything though. <3

Well I shall not wallow anymore, not like it's gonna change anything!

Here's what we've been up to the past week:

Kaitlin had some mushrooms growing down there, so I brought her to the clinic! Okay, so it's not that bad, just a case of some fungal rash. Have been doing away with the diaper whenever we can so that there's more air circulation and whatnot so that she gets better faster. Of course, that has left us with quite a number of unwarned pees and cleaning up, but anything just so she will gets better! Though I must say, this girl has quite a big threshold of pain. *THUMBS UP* babygirl!

Been playing with Kaitlin on her new playmat and we all agree it's great! Kaitlin can now crawl, and fall down without us worrying!

Been bringing Kaitlin out in a baby carrier, but it's really rather painful to the shoulders! I much rather prefer carrying her normally. Guess it is a matter of getting used to it. Babygirl likes it when we run while she is in the baby carrier. Filmed it down for you guys to see!

Kaitlin tried Sweet Potato puree for the first time!
There was an Early Learning Centre sales, so the Auntie in me came out and yes, I bought quite a number of educational materials for Kaitlin. I steered away from the toys okay! I was rather pleased with my buys and showed them off to Lihai! Hurhur. There was 50% off everything okay! Plus, I managed to get flashcards at $2! On top of that, there was a 5% off! I truly sound like a cheapo auntie, but hey! When you can save, SAVE! Then use the savings to buy other awesome stuff right! Plus, I was not the only one who was being kiasu! There were so many mommies there too and expat moms too! I even got hit in the head by an expat mom cos she was taking some toy and she did not apologise! Thought that was pretty rude, but it's okay, I was happy with my buys so that kinds makes up for it!

Kaitlin lost her first story book! Gave Kaitlin her story book to entertain her while she was in her pram, cos she simply does not like the pram so it's kinda hard to stop her from crying. Well, of course the babygirl decided to throw her toy somewhere and when I discovered it, it was too late! She probably thinks it is fine to throw her toys on the floor cos we always pick it up for her, but this time we didn't notice it so there goes the book! I walked from Ion to Forum, back to Ion to try and search but I could not find it :( I even when to the numerous helpdesks at Ion to ask if they had found anything. Before I left Ion, I even went to fill up some form for lost and found objects. The guy initially gave me a lost child form to fill which I thought was pretty funny! I think I sound damn lame and ridiculous filling up some form cos she lost a story book! It's not that it was a story book or what, but more because it was HER FIRST STORY BOOK! I'm a very sentimental person okay! So I was pretty upset about it :(

Not forgetting, the Macs Hello Kitty craze going on! Yes, I've joined into that craze as well! The only Hello Kitty I'm missing out on is the Birdie one which well everyone else is trying to get desperately! People online are selling it for $50! Pfft! I would not pay $50 for a kitty cat toy! I can't believe people are so thick-skinned to sell it at such an exorbitant price, when you can just get at below $10! It's really quite disgusting to see how Singaporeans are so greedy! I mean I'm fine if you wanna sell it at like a profit, but like at a profit of 5 times the price is abit too much don't you think! Oh well, guess I will just have to settle for an incomplete collection then!

Here's why I think Kaitlin has a thing for Hello Kitty as well (hee hee!):

She kept playing with them until I stopped her for fear of her ripping the plastic open! Hurray though cos Kaitlin seems to like Hello Kitty :D Now, it won't be like me forcing Hello Kitty clothes and toys and other objects to her, but more like Kaitlin liking Hello Kitty and me just giving her what she wants so she will be happy! :D Also, I think Kaitlin likes the colour, Purple! It's not the first time she's chosen the purple option when given two similar objects.

Looking forward to the husband's return and it's the weekends! :) TGIF guys!

Mid-Week Musings

Video-ed earlier this week!

Babygirl has been babbling "Mama-mama", and I decided to film it down. These moments, sometimes they don't really last, so better to film them down so I've got something to look back on, and of course, so Kaitlin can see videos of herself next time! Still remember how she used to sorta say "I wuv you" when she was a few months old! Too bad I don't have in down on video:( Oh well, tomorrow's Friday and then the weekends! Also, it's the last day of May! Time really flies! Hope your week's been going good!
